Times have been tough for everyone since the start of Corona. However, even in the most difficult times, creativity flourishes and with the help of some words of encouragement, inspiration finds us and we start creating.
An example of this is Joy, a brand new and upcoming artist, who decided to start recording cover songs spontaneously, posted them on YouTube and it turned out people liked what she was doing, so found the spark to keep recording and being creative. something she thought had long passed.
"I will always credit the song Creep by Radiohead with getting me back into music and creating" Joy notes, explaining that she posted the cover online and was surprised with the feedback she was receiving from friends and family and it encouraged her to progress and move forward with creating and performing cover songs, which inspired her to start a new music project of her own.
She has not been able to work or study in a while, due to some physical and mental health issues and, of course, lockdown. Inactivity was driving her crazy and she needed a hobby, and that is where her own music project started!
Joy's songs are, so far, being recorded at home. She plays the guitar and sings. One can hear and feel sad/melancholic undertones in her voice, and accompanied with the distorted, grunge-styled guitars, make for a killer combo.
Her debut release The Poison is now available on all major digital stores and streaming platforms.
Keep an eye on her! As we are sure you will be hearing a lot more from her.
